Ticketopolis opens U.S. Headquarters in McAllen, Texas

Ticketopolis has officially established its U.S. headquarters in McAllen, Texas: a milestone that marks the company's first major step into the American market and the first successful completion of McAllen's Soft-Landing Pilot Program, a city initiative designed to help international companies establish a U.S. presence.

From a networking table in Monterrey to a headquarters in Texas

The road to McAllen started two years earlier, at Café con Texas, a cross-border networking event held in Monterrey in 2024 and organized by the World Trade Center Monterrey. It was there that Ticketopolis, founded by Fernando Medellin and Blanca Guerra, first connected with the partners who would eventually guide its U.S. expansion: the World Trade Center Monterrey, McAllen's Office of International Relations, its Office of Retail and Business Development, and the McAllen Chamber of Commerce.

That relationship became the foundation for McAllen's Soft-Landing Pilot Program, which gives international businesses structured access to local resources, connections, and expertise while they explore entering the U.S. market. Ticketopolis is the first company to complete the program successfully, and its new headquarters in McAllen is the result.

What officials are saying

City leaders framed the announcement as validation of McAllen's growing role as a bridge for cross-border business. "Ticketopolis choosing McAllen is a powerful statement about the unique opportunities our community offers," said City Manager Isaac J. Tawil. McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos echoed that sentiment: "Ticketopolis' success shows what is possible when international businesses have access to the right resources and partnerships."

As part of the move, Ticketopolis has also joined the McAllen Chamber of Commerce, formalizing its role in the local business community.

Why McAllen, and why now

McAllen sits at one of the busiest commercial crossings on the U.S.-Mexico border, making it a natural launch point for a company built in Mexico and looking to serve organizers on both sides of the border. For Ticketopolis, a platform organizers already use to plan, manage, and sell tickets for physical, virtual, and hybrid events, a U.S. headquarters means faster support, deeper market knowledge, and a local team positioned to work directly with American event organizers, from independent promoters and universities to corporate and nonprofit event teams.

It also reflects something core to how Ticketopolis has grown: through relationships built in person, not just product-market fit on a spreadsheet. A single networking event in Monterrey turned into a multi-year partnership with an entire city's economic development apparatus, the kind of groundwork that doesn't show up in a pitch deck but tends to matter more than most funding announcements.

What this means for organizers

For event organizers already using Ticketopolis, the McAllen headquarters signals a company investing in long-term presence rather than a one-off market test. A U.S. base means better time-zone-aligned support for American customers, a stronger foothold for serving the U.S. side of cross-border events, and a company positioned to grow alongside the border region's expanding events and tourism economy.

Ticketopolis is currently used by organizers across concerts, festivals, conferences, sports, and nonprofit events to build event pages, sell tickets, manage check-in, and market their events, all from one platform. The company's move into McAllen positions that same platform to serve a growing base of U.S. organizers, backed by a team now rooted on both sides of the border.
